Mama Africa: Celebrating Miriam Makeba at the Barbican

Finally London steps up to the plate with a fittingly stellar tribute for Africa’s first lady of song. It’s a long weekend in the America’s and Afripop is going offline till Monday, but there two noteworthy Afro-related events in our neck of the woods: Brooklyn Museum celebrates Africa Viva Africa! is the theme of this month’s Brooklyn’s Museum First Saturdays.
