Four years in the making and the World Cup is finally upon us. You’ll be wondering where to catch a match because, let’s face it, considering that its the first time the Cup has come to Africa, yo don;t want to stay home for this experience. We’ve rounded up the best places to catch a game if you’re in NYC. Where will you be watching?

South Africa
Games: 6/11 @ 10am — 6/16 @ 2:30pm  –  6/22 @ 10am
Take in the sights and sounds (Vuvuzela anyone?) of Mzansi (South Africa) at Madiba in Fort Greene. The cozy neighborhood bar has gone the length to accommodate soccer lovers – they’ve even opened up the roof. There’s also Braii and Xai Xai in Manhattan.

Nigeria
Games: 6/12 @ 10am  –  6/17 @ 10am  –  6/22 @ 2:30pm
Oh, Super Eagles, where will your fans not be? Take a seat at Uptown Grand in Harlem (2110 7th avenue/ 212.280.2110) or the New Combination Restaurant (568 Utica Avenue  — 718.604.0964 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn). Nomad Restaurant in the East Village will be serving traditional Algerian food alongside the expected cheers (and jeers).
