Love the video. Love the song. I don't see that the folks were used as a fashion accessory. They were incorporated and featured in the video.
Love Solange's fashion style and the style in this video in particular, but the music was just okay and she barely interacted with the context she was in, which was as has been pointed out, slightly contrived to look like La Sapologie in Cape Town (not sure if this was just for the video or has the movement expanded...). It's unfortunate that someone so worldly with the means to shoot a video in Cape Town would only treat the local context like another fashion accessory.
