Ugandan-British soul man Michael Kiwanuka has a a musical palette as eclectic as his sound. Currently in the States for his first American tour and to promote his album, “Home Again,” Michael took a moment to chat with AfriPOP! and share three songs that are getting him through this summer:

Shuggie Otis – “Inspiration/Information”

Says Michael: “This song is great if you're out and about in the summer. We listen to this on repeat on the tour bus.”

Link Wray – “Falling Rain”

Says Michael: “This song is a lot more introspective; it's not necessarily summery but it's a gorgeous little song.”

James Brown – “Cold Sweat”

Says Michael: “We've been watching lots of James Brown on the tour bus. I love his energy.”
