Rwandan electro pop singer Iyadede returns with a new video from her EP, The Demo, titled Love Mantra.

Written by Iyadede and produced by her longtime collaborator, Blessoill, it was inspired by meditation mantras used to reflect on love. “The song talks about finding your way back to love in the universal sense of that,” Iyadede tells AfriPOP!

The singer adds that she dedicates the song to slain African-American teenager Trayvon Martin (read more about him here). “I don’t know how this is still happening today,” she says. “I’m really hurt and looking forward to justice being done.”

Love Mantra is featured on the soundtrack of the movie Single Hills, directed by Wilkie Cornelius, and is available for free download on Iyadede’s album, The Demo.
