African Music and movie lovers should hit up the fundraiser for Essakene Film. The flick chronicles the “Festival au Désert,” the annual Malian music festival that has seen the likes of Robert Plant to Jimmy Buffet jamming along with Malian, Tuareg and African musicians. Called “the most remote music festival of the world”, the film looks to tell the story of how the festival came about and its intent to resolve peace in that Saharan region.
The fundraiser is to raise money for post-production. A silent auction will be included as well as a chance to meet the Festival’s director Mohamed ag Ansar. Buy tickets here
