The bi-monthly night at the Rich Mix by the good folk over at the Shrine is everything.
Eska, an established favourite around here, is the main attraction. By now you’re aware of the Great British Songbook project via which you can hear her spin on songs by some of the UK’s best ever songwriters from Joan Armatrading’s Love and Affection to this one by the Foundations.
And the support is top class. We have our eyes firmly on Canadian/Rwandan West Londoner Tanya Auclair thanks to a heads up from the ever illustrious Put Me On it. As does Gilles Peterson. You’ll hear much more from this young lady on this site and soon. This video is from a performance she gave in Rotterdam late last year.
Breis, south London MC, poet, educator and now author drops some rhymes too.
