Just a few weeks shy of Tata Madiba’s 93rd birthday, the Nelson Mandela Foundation has launched Nelson Mandela by Himself: The Authorised Book of Quotations (Michelle Obama got her copy signed while she was visiting South Africa last week). The book contains 2,000 quotes on everything from prison life to reconciliation to his grief over the ravages of AIDS. Read more in the Independent.

South African rapper/DJ/graphic designer/illustrator and all-round machine of awesomery Spoek Mathambo just signed up to a deal with record label Sub Pop. To celebrate there’s this EP titled Put Some Red On It he’s co-produced with Copenhagen-based future-bass artist Chllngr, and it’s free for you to download as a sample of things to come.
