Back in Feb we told you about this collaboration between Puma and Nigerian/American fine artist Kehinde Wiley, which kicked off in Paris.
Wiley created four original works of art inspired by three of football’s most decorated African players, Samuel Eto’o of Cameroon, John Mensah of Ghana and Emmanuel Eboué of Ivory Coast. Wiley painted three individual portraits of each player wearing the Africa Unity Kit, and then a fourth ‘Unity’ Portrait was painted with all three players together, symbolizing the united countries of Africa.
The individual portraits, measure 1.8 by 1.5 metres and the ‘Unity’ portrait is 2.7 by 3.6 metres.
Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou came out to the opening at the last stop for this exhibition, Cape Town.

It’s on at Studio One, 186 Bree Street, Cape Town, from 24 June – 3 July 2010. Viewing will be open to the public from 10am – 6pm daily.
