When good things happen to good guys in the cruel business of music we wanna sing it from the rooftops. It’s been a whirlwind 2, 3 years for Hip-hop Pantsula, the foremost proponent of the Southern African style of Hip-hop branded Motswako.
When he met him at the MTV Africa Music Awards last year he hadn’t quite come down from the high of a late night cipher between himself and a slew of African rap royalty including D’Banj, Samini, Ikwechukwu in Wyclef Jean’s hotel room. Since then Wyclef’s become an avid fan.
He also chatted to us in great detail about his fourth and then up-coming album on which, as is the norm for him, he features a few Pan-African collabos.
His track with Nas Keledimo, to which we’ve heard many different reactions, must have been a late addition as there’s no mention of it in this interview. But, we have it here for you to listen and give us your thoughts.
Wait there’s more: Channel O Awards 2009 reviewed // Ses’fikile: TKZee returns // Converse All-Stars, African Style
