MTV’s Staying Alive campaign is aimed at educating young adults around the world about HIV prevention without all the statistical jargon. Part of the campaign includes the creation of Ignite Kenya, a program designed to change attitudes about sexual behavior in Kenya and surrounding countries.
We’re into their new drama “Shuga.” Set in Nairobi, “Shuga” tells the tale of a group of university students living life with the looming threat of HIV infection with every unprotected booty call. Created in commemoration of the December 1st World Aids Day, the show moves viewers with characters that could be a relative, friend, or next-door-neighbor, making hit closer to home.
