With the promise of spring comes a new lease on life for North London’s Jazz Café. At least once a month, anyway.
After a bit of a dry spell for the venue, here comes L’Afrik C’est Chic, this awesome looking monthly residence curated by the mighty and beloved Amadou and Mariam. The husband and wife tag team will play an acoustic set of some of their own music as well as covers and/or collaborations with their invited guests. Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos, Cold Play’s Chris Martin, Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja, Damon Albarn and Neneh Cherry are just some of them.
Add to that there’s beats from the usual Afro-London selectas like Eric Soul of Afrogroov and BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Edu.
First session kicks off this afternoon.
