This Day media group (they, of the celeb-studded Africa Rising concerts in the UK, US and Nigeria) are launching an African fashion and pop culture mag called Arise. We caught a sneak peek of the launch issue over at Bella Naija.
With so many mags folding over on this side, congrats to This Day. The images look stunning. Let’s hope the mission is the same.

in as much as the magazine glorifies africa and showcases its potentials, how come our own talents were not featured in the maiden edition of a magazine we call our own. in this moment and time, when do we start being "us" and doing things once more for "us" when every other country is taking pride in its own. nduka and founders of this magazine should be ashamed of themselves for making such a silly mistake of exhibiting a neo colonialist and imperialist thinking in this dispensation. it is obvious they are ashamed to "stand up" for the country that gave so much to them. "nigeria we hail thee".
The magazine is in Borders.
This is really a great oportunity to highlight the beauty of African women to the world.
where can I get a copy in Europe
please translate it in French also
We are truly a creative people, putting mud to cloth to stay, rituals of proud display...
This is really awesome! As one who grew up in Nigeria, I know first hand that the fashion and pop culture scene in Africa has been widely under rated. So I'll keep my eyes peeled for this mag.
I'm only surprised that Oluchi, the mega model from Nigeria isnt featured on the cover along with her black contemporaries.
Ms Delta,
It's going to be out on newsstands in London, Washington and Nigeria this month. Look out!
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this magazine in the UK. I came across it randomly at the hairdressers and was tempted to 'borrow' it - but alas those pesky morals kicked in! Would love to get a copy, as found it inspirational to read positive messages from Africa for once
Excellent posting! I love your creations!!! Congratulations!!! Have a nice day!!!
